Bluegrass Jam Survival Tips

by Gerald Jones

Note: This is an incomplete and unofficial list.

  • If you don't know the song, play something you know that's close to it.
  • If you land on a wrong note, don't stay there.
  • If you want to shine, pick the songs.
  • If all else fails, play "Cripple Creek" (ie. hang around the I chord with an brief and occasional visit to either the IV or V chord.)
