Hall of Honor Inductee

In 1989, then-lawyer and music store owner Craig Ferguson founded production company Planet Bluegrass which bought the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.(Planet Bluegrass has since expanded to produce additional events in Colorado.) One early step they took: registering the festival’s name with the Colorado Secretary of State. Along with Steve Szymanski, Craig grew Planet Bluegrass with the purchase of the Rocky Mountain Bluegrass Festival (Rockygrass) from CBMS as well as growing the Rocking Mountain Folk Festival (Folks Fest). Nestled in the to arts and music hot spot of Lyons, CO the festivals have grown along with the Telluride Bluegrass Festival to international recognition. Additionally, Planet Bluegrass expanded to include week long Bluegrass and songwriting camps as well as several smaller festivals and concerts over the years.
