For nearly 20 years, CBMS has acknowledged various individuals whose contributions to the Colorado bluegrass community have helped grow and evolve into the thriving scene that we know today. Whether that be through their work in starting and growing festivals and concert series, community outreach and education, mentoring younger generations, or CO bluegrass to a national and international stage through musicianship. In 2006 the CBMS Hall of Honor was created to recognize these special individuals, though a "public" record of the Hall had not been formally organized in one place. At that point in time communications and acknowledgements were done primarily though the Pow'r Pickin monthly newsletter CBMS produced.
We are excited to announce that the new CBMS website features a Hall of Honor page dedicated to those individuals who grace the hall's walls! We invite you to check out the 40 members of the CO Bluegrass Hall of Honor and see the faces of those who have worked so hard to help build and grow our wonderful CO bluegrass community!
CBMS has had no new inductees into the since 2019 (pre-covid), but that is about to change. There will be an induction ceremony at 10 am Sunday morning at the Midwinter Bluegrass festival where two new and well deserving individuals will be honored as well as the first ever band inductions into the Hall of Honor.
We recognize that due to the passing of time, we may not have all of the pertinent information we would like on some of the folks in the Hall of Honor. As always, feel free to email us with your stories and information of those who may no longer be with us so that we can keep their legacies alive and further enrichen our knowledge of the CO bluegrass scene.
